In Suspensão Jarbas Lopes created a sculpture of fire suspended from a gigantic wire net. An object suspended in space and time. A profoundly symbolic object of contemplation pointing to the primordial moment of the invention of fire, a turning point in human evolution. With the mastery of that early technology, which brought about extraordinary progress, also came an unstoppable desire to evolve, control and master all technologies. This sculpture is most of all a reflection on the present time, the pandemic, the wounds of the world, a suspended world.
